Sri Lanka: President Rajapaksa threatens me with filthy language, says ruling party MP Wijeyadasa Rajapaksa

Government MP Wijeyadasa Rajapaksa says that he will complain to Sri Lanka’s IGP against threats made to him by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa today (16), which were made during a phone conversation.

The President had severely berated ruling party MP Wijeyadasa Rakapaksa following a media briefing held at Abayarama-Narahenpita yesterday (15).

According to the MP, President Gotabaya Rajapaksa had slated the MP in words ‘unfit’ to be used by a head of state.

During a media briefing held yesterday MP wijeyadasa Rajapaksa said that President Gotabaya & His brother Basil Rajapaksa were auctioning Sri Lanka to the Chinese.

The MP Made this remark with reference to the Colombo Port City & its Commission, which critics say would have sweeping powers to grant concessions to investors and may serve as an international hub for money laundering if unchecked.

The MP said that he had harassed by the Government even on previous occasions during which his home was shot at.

Rajapaksa said that the government had even used white van operated by the army which was used as a surveillance vehicle to trace his phone calls during the past.

In conclusion, MP Wijeyadasa Rajapaksa said that if the head of state was threatening his own MP’s over the expression of views that were intended at safeguarding public property, then the people of the country should take on the responsibility of their safety.

While speaking on the Port City issue, MP Wijeyadasa Rajapaksa said that President Gotabaya Rajapaksa who goes on record as the President who was able to secure the highest number of votes polled during an election (6.9mn) together with his brother Basil Rajapaksa, are devouring Sri Lanka.

The SLPP MP said that both Basil & Gotabaya including their children were American citizens who were on a holiday to destroy the country.

Wijeyadasa Rajapaksa also said that Basil Rajapaksa would ensure that Gotabaya Rajapaksa would be sent home prematurely before the end of his tenure in two years.

While accepting that he had played his part to bring the incumbent regime to power, Wijayadasa Rajapaksa said that both Gotabaya & Basil had sidelined Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa at present.

The MP said that Sri Lanka at present was a Chinese colony with the dollar skyrocketing daily.
