Those who criticize or fall out with MaRa regime must suffer dire consequences at Jaffna: MC member brutally attacked

(Lanka-e-News -23.Dec.2011, 10.00PM) Not only the political opponents of the MaRa regime , but even those who left them in resentment are facing serious threats when engaging in political activities in Jaffna, according to our Jaffna correspondents.

Municipal Council member of Jaffna , Manuel Mangalanesan , an EPDP member was assaulted mercilessly on 22nd at about 8.00 p.m. by armed groups who arrived in motor cycles. This incident had occurred at the junction where the Navalar road and Kasthuriar road meet . The victim who is in a critical condition has been admitted to the Jaffna Hospital.

Mangalasen is a member of the EPDP who had been suspended from the party recently following serious disputes which erupted between him and the party. He had made open and grave accusations against the EPDP party leadership for the criminal and lawless activities they are indulging in .

The MaRa regime is controlling Jaffna with Army administration and with the armed groups of the EPDP led by Douglas Devananda who are allies of the regime.

The victim Mangalasen who was the victim of the brutal attack launched on the 22nd is a married person.

Suspect Duminda’s head injuries , surgery and MaRa’s profound concern

(Lanka-e-News -23.Dec.2011, 10.00PM) Herein are four X ray photographs taken of the head region of R. Duminda Silva , the prime suspect in the quadruple murder at Mulleriyawa recently , when surgery was performed on his head . Many are assailed by doubts and suspicions as to whether murderer Duminda in fact sustained gunshot injuries or whether the regime is distorting the picture for the most nefarious reasons. The broadcasting channel of Rena De Silva , the brother of Duminda Silva declared that these were photographs produced to courts.
Duminda Silva , the alleged murderer is currently receiving treatment at Mount Elizabeth Hospital , Singapore . When President Rajapakse attended the conference at Bali Islands recently , he paid a visit to the Hospital on his way back after the conference to see Duminda Silva , the prime suspect in the quadruple murder which involved the ghastly killing of Bharatha Lakshman , a Presidential advisor and senior SLFPer.
