Clash between Colombo school students - Police officer and 6 students injured

A tense situation has been reported in Reid Avenue in Colombo 07 due to a clash between two groups of students from Royal College and Thurstan College, police said.

Tuesday, 23 October 2012 Traffic on Reid Avenue in Colombo -7 has been obstructed due to the prevailing situation, police added. Meanwhile a police officer attached to Cinnamon Garden Police and 6 students were injured during the clash and rush to the Colombo National Hospital. Police say a longstanding rivalry between students of both schools was the cause for the clash.
