May Day celebrated in grand style

The 128th May Day was celebrated in grand style in Colombo as political parties brought representatives, from all over the country for the day to pay tribute to the down trodden 'worker'.
Colombo turned red as it saw 18 rallies and 12 processions taking place, with the involvement of the United People's Freedom Alliance (UPFA), the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP), Mahajana Eksath Peramuna (MEP), Nawa Sama Samaja Party (NSSP), Sri Lanka Communist Party (SLCP), the Lanka Sama Samaja Party (LSSP) and various other Trade Unions.
The United National Party (UNP), on the other hand, decided to hold its May Day Rally in Ampara.
