The general public of this country were hindered by family politics for nine long years. With hopes for a change, the people of Sri Lanka voted for a transformation of the government on January 9, 2015. Since then Sri Lanka has been governed under the theme of good governance.

With the promise of good governance, the government was able to remove corrupted individuals in state institutions with educated and rightfully qualified individuals. But, it is with much disappointment that the Ceylon Independent reveals that even under the good governance regime there still exists the earlier tainted, “family politics”.
