Who gives Mahinda the lists of those summoned by FCID?

It is a big question for top police officials as to how the lists of names of persons being summoned by the FCID each day, go to former president Mahinda Rajapaksa early every morning, say sources at the police department.

They believe the ex-president is getting the lists through a very top person in their department.
After receiving the list each day, Rajapaksa has a discussion with a team of lawyers led by president’s counsel Kalinga Indatissa about the background of each person and the impact of their statements to the FCID, say sources close to the former president. Thereafter, Indatissa calls them and threatens them, telling them to meet him with at least Rs. 2.5 million in hand if he is to represent them. Lawyers are strongly criticizing this mischief by Indatissa.
IGP N.K. Illangakoon is keeping a close watch on the investigations being carried out by the FCID. On the day ex-MP Sajin Vaas Gunawardena was summoned, he ordered FCID officers to obtain a statement from him and release him thereafter. He is very angry that FCID officers have gone against his order and sent Sajin Vaas into remand custody. The IGP is openly supporting the MPs who claim the FCID to be illegal and want it disbanded.
The IGP is dreaming that a Rajapaksa era will return during his tenure. ASP Ariyapala received a transfer on the IGP’s order after he summoned senior DIG S.M. Wickremesinghe to the CID over the Angunukolapelessa pistol incident, but the ASP got it cancelled through the support of several lawyers loyal to the government.
Instead of being a support to FCID and CID investigations, the IGP has become a hurdle, say top officials in the department.
