UK government to fund studies into BAME Covid-19 risks

Scientists are being given millions of pounds in government money to investigate why people from Black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) backgrounds are more at risk from coronavirus.

A range of studies will examine all kinds of data from genetic factors to social circumstances in the hope of saving lives in the future.

Many people from the BAME community, especially frontline medics, have tragically lost their lives to the disease.
