Elderly woman deserted by chilren

An elderly woman deserted by her children was found lying in the Galewela Bus Stand this afternoon. Police that rushed to the scene on information from the public brought her to the police station and initiated investigations.
She told police that she was from Madupitiya in Panadura South Police area and the mother of three sons and a daughter. She stated that her two elder sons were in the police service and the youngest was a senior bank official. The daughter was a retired teacher and the eldest in the family. She said her children had handed her over to three homes for the aged earlier.
