Attempts being made to arrest Wickremabahu Karunaratne

Lanka-e-News 10.Dec.2010 11.45PM) According to reports reaching Lanka e news attempts are being made to take Dr. Wickremebahu Karunaratne into custody alleging that he made a statement that during the final phase of the war between LTTE and the Army , the SL army killed a large number of Tamils.

This charge is being leveled against him based on the allegation that he made a statement to that effect when he went recently to London to attend a commemoration ceremony in remembrance of those Tamils who died and went missing in the North east war.

Right of self - determination of Ilankai TamilsThe right of self determination of Tamil speaking people is a foremost issue in modern Lankan society.Though it is related to the Tamil vs. Sinhala conflicts narrated in various chronicles, the present form arises out of the inability to construct a democratic, plural, civil society. Though Sri Lanka (the Sinhala equivalent of Ilankai) is considered a nation by the United Nations Organization, Sri Lankan nationality is yet to be recognized by the masses here.
