Rs. 150,000 for D.M.’s clothes

Rs. 144,000 had been spent to purchase the material to stitch Prime Minister D.M. Jayartane’s clothes for his tour to Vavuniya. The Public Trustees’ Department had paid the monies.
JVP parliamentarian Sunil Handunnetti has revealed these details at the parliamentary debate on the latest report of the Committee on Public Enterprises. The Public Trustee had paid the monies to one Sita Stores.
The parliamentarian also revealed that over Rs. 5.6 million had been spent by the department on purchasing atapirikara offerings and clothes to observe sil.
