Corruption crackdown snares former Chinese general

A spreading anti-corruption crackdown launched by President Xi Jinping snared its most senior figure to date on Monday, June 30, 2014 when the former top Chinese general was expelled from the ruling Communist Party to face bribery charges. Gen. Xu, is accused of taking money and property in exchange for promotions and other favors, said a party statement reported by the official Xinhua News Agency.
