Elder brother for Palestine – younger brother for Israel

Dr. Dayan Jayatilake revealed at a recent seminar that he had replied to a SMS message by the president’s younger brother defence secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa that he was the permanent representative at Geneva appointed to that position by his elder brother.

The SMS message to Dr. Jayatilake questioned as to who he was to criticize Israel, which he had done before the UN human rights council over Israel’s genocides in 2009 and now.

The permanent representative can boldly reply so because president Mahinda Rajapaksa is the chairman of the Sri Lanka-Palestine Solidarity Organization. Telephoning his Palestinian counterpart Mahmoud Abbas regularly, the president inquire about the plight of the Palestinian people. Knowing this well, Dr. Jayatilake extended his support to the Palestinians without any fear.

When the elder brother, the president, does so, we should look into as to why younger brother Gotabhaya backs Israel. It is his strategist C.A Chandraprema alias ‘Thadi Priyantha’ who has advised him to appear on behalf of Israel. Gota sends messages to the US through Israel. The US does not investigate its citizen Nandasena Gotabhaya Rajapaksa at the instigation of Israel. Whatever is said, the advice by ‘Thadi Priyantha’ has worked to some extent.

It is important to mention here an explanation given by Bodu Bala Sena theoretician Dilanthe Withanage and BBS general secretary Galagodatte Gnanasara Thera at a recent seminar. The Thera said that if Maligawatte becomes a Gaza Strip today, they will become Israel. A shaken Withanage has advised him not to make such a foolish remark. With a smile, Gnanasara Thera said, “I too, know that to be a foolish remark. But, I have been asked to say so. Please Mister, just keep silent.”

Accordingly, the defence secretary’s loyalty to Israel is justifiable. What we should understand is that Gotabhaya Rajapaksa will be saved by Israel by exerting any influence on the US if any war crime accusation is levelled against him.

BBS Blames Islamic Fundamentalists Of Restricting Their Cyberspace Interactions

Bodu Bala Sena (BBS) General Secretary Galagoda Atte Gnanasara expressed fears over the administration of the popular social media site Facebook, falling into the hands of extremists whom he believes have played a part in blocking their official page on the site.

Expressing his views to Ada Derana Gnanasara has requested the responsible authorities of Facebook to be wary of the growing influence of extremism over the operations of the social media site.

“We have not at any point degraded or condemned any religious leader or a particular religion. It is the activities we carry out against Islamic extremism in Sri Lanka that led to our Facebook page being blocked. It is not just us who have been targeted – Minister Champika Ranawaka’s page has also been blocked,” he has stated.

He has gone on to state that it is a very unfortunate situation because the BBS is no longer able to promote their campaigns as effectively through electronic or print media as through social media sites.

Gnanasara has continued to blame Islamic extremists of carrying out an organized campaign to block the BBS website and their Facebook page and restrict their activities on cyberspace.

“We don’t have blood on our hands and never have we at any point created clashes anywhere. This is an era where injustice triumphs over justice,” Gnanasara has further stated commenting on his displeasure of being kicked-off Facebook.
