workshop on building National Unity

Bakeer Markar Centre for National Unity and Sarvodaya jointly organized a workshop on building National Unity, today in Colombo.

The workshop and discussions primarily focused on creating an activity based plan of action to create positive awareness and tackle religious and ethnic tensions that are prevalent in our society.

Many religious leaders representing all religions including Ven. Professor Kotapitiye Rahula Thero and Ven. Baddegama Samith Thero, representatives from the media, civil society representatives, key corporate leaders and youth activists also attended the event.

Further to the discussions, Sarvodaya and Bakeer Markar Centre intend publish a document containing the action points agreed at the workshop to be implemented with diverse partners across sectors in the future.
