Kahawatta shooting incident victim dies

A
supporter of Common Opposition Presidential candidate Maithripala
Sirisena who was injured in a shooting incident at Kahawatte last Monday
(January 5) has died at the Ratnapura hospital where he was undergoing
treatment.
Shantha Dodangoda, succumbed to his injuries when he along with two
others were shot while erecting a stage for an election rally of
Maithripala.
Deputy Minister Premalal Jayasekera, Sabaragamuwa Provincial Council
member Aruna Nilantha Jayasinghe and chairman of the Kahawatte
Provincial Council are wanted for questioning in connection with the
death of Dodangoda.
Police have yet to make any arrests.
Deputy minister Jayasekera has already denied involvement in the shooting.
