Police in teargas attack against student Bhikkus!

Police fired teargas and water at members of the Inter University Bhikku Bala Mandalaya who had been marching to the University Grants Commission to protest the curtailment of the number of Buddhist monks enrolled

to universities this year. The attack left eight Bhikkus hospitalized, said the organization.

After a protest in front of the Colombo Fort railway station, they had marched to the UGC to handover their demands. Inter University Students Federation convener Najith Indika said they condemned the attack, and that they would inform the media today (30) about their future course  of action.
