CID chief conceals fmr. SLPA Chairman's corruption report!

The CID Director is attempting to conceal a scandal concerning former chairman of the Sri Lanka Ports Authority - Priyath Bandu Wickrama, the 'Sath Handa' newspaper reports.

The newspaper claims that the internal probe report over the Rs. 100 million fraud allegedly committed by Dr. Bandu Wickrama while selling the 'Diyakaawa' tugboat after taking it apart, is being swept under the rug by the CID Director.

The probe has also revealed that the businessman connected to the deal has also verified that Dr. Bandu Wickrama had received money in a shady manner.

Nearly 03 months have elapsed since the report was handed over to the CID Director.

Speaking a higher police officer said, "This internal report includes evidence sufficient to arrest Dr. Bandu Wickrama. However, the CID Director attempting to sweep the report under the rug."
