Multi-faith remembrance ceremony held in remembrance of tsunami victims in Mullaitivu

A multi-faith remembrance ceremony was held in Mullaitivu on Saturday to
commemorate the lives lost in the Boxing Day tsunami 11 years ago.
Hundreds of people gathered at the St Peter Tsunami Memorial Church,
where Muslim, Hindu and Christian prayers were held in memory of the
lives lost.
The church in Mullaitivu was hit by the December 26 tsunami, which claimed the lives of 3,000 in the district alone.
Northern Provincial Council agriculture minister Ayngaranesan,
deputy president Jayanthan and member Ravikaran were present at the
proceedings.
