A driver attached to Municipal Council Matara in drug business

The police have arrested a person employed as a tractor driver at the Municipal Council office in Matara who has been involved in a racket of a drug dealer.

In a sudden rounding up on the 26th instant in Matara Hamudewatta area the driver31year old driver had been arrested. When he was rounded up he had abandoned the tractor on the road and fled in a three wheeler. The police had followed him and arrested him. Another person who had jointly involved with him in the drug business had escaped.But the police are conducting investigations.

When the tractor was searched 120 miligrams of heroine contained in two packets had been discovered.

The Municipal commissioner Senaka Palliyaguru had stated that the tractor driver has been interdicted from his service in the Matara Municipal council who was involved in the drug business.
