Ajmir, released from prison, to join JO

Former police inspector Mohamed Ajmir, who was convicted of having links with the LTTE and conspiring with the LTTE to murder top police officials, was released recently after serving a 10 year prison term. Within the next few days, he is due to join with the joint opposition, reports say.

He faced charged of plotting to kill five top policemen, including FCID director DIG Ravi Vidyalankara.
The JO, formed by ex-president Mahinda Rajapaksa, has accepted those who were accused and convicted of wrongdoing during his regime. The latest addition, Ajmir will be important for the JO, as he had conspired to kill the FCID director, and he will continue is conspiracies with them.
