People of Pattalipuram in Muthur demand return of land from Sri Lankan Army

125 families from the Muthur East area of Trincomalee are demanding the return of their lands from military occupation.
People of Pattalipuram who were driven out of their homes and fields by
the Sri Lankan Army in 2006 have expressed growing frustration that
troops continue to occupy their lands.
Despite having the deeds to homes and cultivation lands, Pattalipuram
has not been returned to its owners and an army camp built during the
war continues to operate in the village.
The families are demanding the return of their lands, around an acre
each, so that they can resettle and restart their livelihoods.
