Here’s how Weerawansa’s wife got an identity card

It was revealed in Court yesterday (20th) how Ms. Shashi Weerawansa, the
wife of former Minister of Construction, Engineering Services, Housing
and Common Amenities during Mahinda Rajapaksa regime Wimal Weerawansa,
used ministerial powers to prepare an identity card.
An official of the Department of Registration of persons giving evidence
had stated former Commissioner General had ordered to issue an identity
card to Ms. Shshi Weerawansa on condition that relevant documents would
be produced later.
The case was fixed for further trial on 7th December by Chief Magistrate Lal Ranasinghe Bandara.
