120th birth anniversary of Thanthai Chelva marked in Mannar

The 120th birth anniversary of S J V Chelvanayakam was marked at his memorial statue in Mannar today.
Fondly referred to as Thanthai (father) Chelva, he
is remembered across the Tamil nation for spear heading the Vaddukoddai
resolution which remains a cornerstone of the Tamil movement for
self-determination in Sri Lanka.
