Person behind 40 mysterious calls to Garnia, identified

Swiss Embassy staffer Garnia Barrister Francis had received 40 telephone calls from a certain mysterious person’s mobile phone prior to CID officer Nishantha Silva fleeing the country and after, it has been revealed.

The CID is said to have found all information regarding this mysterious person.

The Swiss Embassy has so far failed to provide the Sri Lankan Government with the information pertaining to Nishantha Silva and family being granted migration visas despite it being 35 days since Silva left the country.

It is also reported that despite the court order ordering that Garnia Francis’s mobile phone be handed over to the CID, it has not been handed over to date.

Mobile smuggled into Welikada hidden inside food parcel 

It had also been revealed that while Garnia Francis was remanded at the Y cell at the Welikada Prison, she had received a mobile phone and CD hidden inside a food parcel.

Garnia is said to have had the authority to send people to Switzerland

According to Swiss Embassy sources, Garnia had the authority to recommend the granting of visas to Sri Lankans seeking political asylum in Switzerland while she served as the Deputy Migration Officer at the Swiss Embassy.
