Beware of fuel sold on black market!

Octane 95 petrol available

The much-awaited Octane 95 Petrol had been released to the fuel filling stations countrywide yesterday, the Power and Energy Ministry said.

Minister of Power and Energy Kanchana Wijesekera yesterday told journalists that the CPC had taken deliversy of two shipments of Octane 95 Petrol, stocks will be available for the next six weeks.”

He urged motorists who use Octane 95 Petrol not to stay in lines for 92 Octane Petrol and to obtain Octane 95 Petrol from today (24).

Minister Wijesekara also said on twitter that power cuts do not take place in prioritised hospitals with operating theaters.

He said that all ambulances were given priority for fuel and daily fuel for hospital generators and ambulances were provided.

Wijesekera yesterday requested the public to refrain from purchasing petroleum products from the black market.

He said that investigations had revealed that certain individuals were engaged in collecting fuel and were mixing them with other oils to make a killing.
