(Lanka-e-News-23.May.2014, 11.00PM) Major general Jagath Dias who was the SL’s Deputy Ambassador to Germany , an European country , for some time enjoying thoroughly all the diplomatic perks and privileges has been barred by the European union from being granted a Schenegan visa which entitles him to visit European countries, according to reports.

Jagath Dias who returned to Sri Lanka after termination of his diplomatic service , and undertook duties in the armed service had applied for a Schenegan visa to visit Italy and several European countries. His application had been rejected following discussions among the countries of the European union . The refusal to grant visa to travel to the European countries to an individual who was himself one time a SL deputy ambassador in Europe is something most disdainfully noteworthy , and reflects most poorly on that individual.

War crime charges have been mounted that during the final phase of the war , the 57 th corps that was under the command of Major general Jagath Dias had been gleefully and freely shelling the hospitals , and there is evidence to prove that Jagath Dias who was giving commands was responsible for those attacks.

It is significant to note when two unarmed innocent school children and a youth were brutally killed by the army in the recent Rathupaswala tragedy , it was Jagath Dias who was appointed as the chief of the committee to inquire into the incident in order to clear the killers of the implication in the crimes ,and protect them from just punishment .

Jagath Dias has by now incurred the displeasure and bitter resentment of the soldiers of the army , for he is best known for his worst sordid activities stooping readily and eagerly to do the most disgraceful and illegal orders of SL criminal defense secretary Gotabaya Rajapakse .
