PM to resolve estate sector salary issues

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe is to meet the heads of the Ministry
of Plantation, the Treasury and the Employers Federation (EFC) at
Temple Trees today (25), to resolve salary issues in the estate sector.
The Prime Minister has already directed authorities to take action to
address salary issues in the estate sector, and its progress will be
discussed at tomorrow's meeting.
The Treasury had earlier agreed to offer financial assistance to
regional plantation companies, to increase the salaries of the estate
sector workers.
The proper implementation of this programme and its way forward will also be discussed at the meeting.
